To ensure the integrity and detail of every work that leaves my easel, I adhere to a strict curing and stabilization protocol.
Why the Wait?
Oil painting is a living process. High-spec works—especially those featuring the deep, luminous glazes found in my recent series—require time to stabilize chemically before the final protective layer is applied.
The Calibration Phase: Once the brush leaves the panel, a piece requires a minimum of 2 to 4 weeks to "set." This ensures that the "quiet electricity" and complex values are locked in.
The Final Spec: I use Gamvar professional-grade resin varnish. This provides a "breathable" archival barrier that protects the work from dust and UV while allowing the paint to continue its natural curing process safely over time.
The Hand-Off: A painting will only be shipped once it has passed a final visual inspection and the varnish has reached its peak stability.
